“Tokyo-based German-Filipino photographer Robert Kirsch holds his first solo exhibition in which he explores his recent personal journey to contentment. Reflecting on his nomadic upbringing, Kirsch explores how Tokyo has brought him a sense of belonging, giving him a sense of community, real connection, and an understanding of how to reconnect with himself in the present.
Shooting intuitively, Kirsch’s photography is full of close-up detail and whimsical expression. His images are often arranged in unexpected diptychs that further add to the story conveyed and create a surprising relationship between two seemingly unrelated moments in time.”
